Report a problem
Tell ChatPilot's makers about a problem or a wish from the app or the website, with screenshots and diagnostics you check first, and follow the answers.
Something wrong with ChatPilot, or a wish? Report it from the app, and ChatPilot's makers get it. You see exactly what is sent before it goes, and never your messages or contacts.
Send a report
- Open Settings β Help: report a problem.
- Choose Problem or Wish, give it a short title and say what happened, what you expected and the steps.
- Add screenshots if they help (below).
- Tick Attach diagnostics if you like (below).
- Check Exactly what is sent, then press Send report and confirm.
Also from:
- a discussion with ChatPilot: a proposed ticket for π ChatPilot itself;
- your Telegram control bot:
/bug <what's wrong>. You see the report before it's sent; - this manual: Report a problem with this page at the bottom of each article.
Screenshots
Up to 5 per report. Paste one (βV / Ctrl+V), drop images on the card, use Add screenshots, or Screenshot this panel (where your browser allows it): go to the screen you want to show, then press Take screenshot.
Each screenshot opens full size first. Drag over names, messages or numbers to cover them, with Blur or Black out, then press Done (or Looks fine). The thumbnail shows it as it will be sent: exactly as you checked it, without the photo's hidden details.
Diagnostics
Attach diagnostics adds the version, your system, which apps are connected and the last 200 lines of the log. Phone numbers, e-mail addresses, keys and chat names are replaced first, and messages and contacts are never in it. It is shown in full below the box before you send.
It ends with a few data checks: counts only (for example how many WhatsApp group messages have no sender name, per kind of address, with the oldest and newest day), so nobody has to run commands to help with a bug. When the makers ask for one check by its name on a question for you, press Send data check on it under Today β Questions for you (see Today and tasks).
Follow your reports
Under Your reports on the card you see each report with its state (open, in progress, question for you, ready to test, done, not planned). Click one to read the makers' answers.
- ready to test: a fix is out. Update ChatPilot and check whether it still happens.
- question for you: the makers asked you something. To answer, link the app to your account (below), then answer on chat-pilot.ai under Your reports.
Link the app to your chat-pilot.ai account
Reports from the app reach the makers without an account. Press π Link to your chat-pilot.ai account on the card: it opens chat-pilot.ai with a one-time code (15 minutes). Sign in there and press Link app. From then on your reports, earlier ones too, show under Your reports in your account, you get e-mails about them, and you can answer questions there. Only link an app that is yours.
Linked apps on chat-pilot.ai lists them; Unlink stops new reports from going to your account (the earlier ones stay).
Without a report key
A copy without a report key (for example one you installed with git) files reports as GitHub issues in ChatPilot's repository when it can reach it, otherwise in app-requests.md in ChatPilot's settings folder. The card shows where yours go. Screenshots then stay on your computer, ready to drag into the issue.
A problem with the website
Something wrong on chat-pilot.ai itself (a blurry screenshot, an outdated sentence, a page that looks broken on your phone)? Press Report a problem with this page, the flag in the corner or the link in the footer. Say what's wrong, add a screenshot if it helps (Capture this page, paste, drop or Choose a file, then Mark up with Box, Arrow or Blur), or press Point at it and click the part that's wrong. Sent with your report lists everything that goes along before you press Send report: the page, your window size, theme, browser and the site's version.
Signed in to your account on chat-pilot.ai? Then the panel says Sent as your address, the report is filed under your account and you follow it under Your reports like a report from the app. Not signed in, you can leave an e-mail address for an answer.
By e-mail
You can also write to devs@chat-pilot.ai. Your mail becomes a report, and answers to our e-mails about it reach the same report.
