Getting started
Link Telegram
Sign ChatPilot in to your own Telegram account so your chats, groups and channels come into the inbox.
ChatPilot signs in to your Telegram account the way Telegram Desktop does, with your phone number and a login code. This is separate from your control bot, which only talks to you.
Get an api_id and api_hash
Telegram gives every app that signs in its own keys. Make yours once:
- Open https://my.telegram.org and sign in with your phone number.
- Go to API development tools, fill in an app name (anything) and create it.
- Keep the page open: you need api_id (a number) and api_hash (32 characters).
- In the panel, open Settings → Telegram and press Connect.
- Paste the api_id and api_hash, type your Phone number with the country code, and press Send login code.
- Telegram sends a code to your Telegram app. Type it under Code and press Log in.
- If your account has a cloud password (two-step verification), the card asks for it as 2FA password.
The card then says connected. Your login is kept in your computer's secret store, never in a file. Every chat, group and channel starts switched off: go on with Choose which chats ChatPilot may read.
Later
- Log in again signs in anew, for example after you ended the session on your phone (Telegram → Settings → Devices).
- + Add account adds a further Telegram account to the same inbox, for example one per team member. It uses the same api_id and api_hash; give it a short name.
- Remove disconnects a further account. Its chats stay in ChatPilot; nothing new comes in from it.
