Auto-answer and safety
When ChatPilot writes first
Let auto-answer start a conversation now and then — a check-in, a birthday, a daily greeting — within strict limits.
Normally auto-answer only answers. In a one-to-one chat you can also let it start a conversation. Everything here is off until you switch it on, per chat, on the chat's Auto-answer tab under Start a conversation.
What can make it write
- After quiet days: after a number of days without a message, a check-in.
- Days they told about: notes with a 📅 in People; good luck before, then how it went.
- Their birthday, from People.
- A daily greeting: Good morning or Good night at a time you pick, on the days you tick.
How it sends
- Ask me first: a draft with Send (the default): you get the message to approve.
- Send by itself, marked as AI: it goes out with the mark, after the same checks as an answer, and is reported in Telegram.
The limits, always
- Only in one-to-one chats where auto-answer is on.
- At most a number of messages a week (3 by default).
- Never twice in a row without an answer from them.
- Not right after you wrote to them yourself.
- Not in the quiet hours (21:30–08:00 by default).
- Each occasion only once.
The global Off everywhere stops this too.
