ChatPilot
Getting started

Connect your calendars

Your agenda on Today, from the calendars on your Mac.

ChatPilot can show your own agenda next to your chats. On a Mac, Apple Calendar gives every calendar that is already set up there in one go: iCloud, Google, Exchange or Office 365, CalDAV and calendars you subscribed to. Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 and calendar links (CalDAV, .ics) for when ChatPilot doesn't run on a Mac come later.

Connect Apple Calendar

  1. Open Settings → Calendars (under Accounts).
  2. Press Connect Apple Calendar. macOS asks whether ChatPilot may access your calendars: choose Allow Full Access.
  3. The card lists your calendars. Each has three switches:
  4. On Today: its events show on the Today page.
  5. Free/busy: it counts when ChatPilot works out when you're free.
  6. May add events: off until you switch it on. ChatPilot doesn't add events yet; when it does, it always shows you the event first. A calendar you can't change on the Mac (a subscription, a shared calendar you only read) says read-only calendar instead.

Press Connect on the Mac itself: that's where macOS asks. A calendar you add on the Mac later shows up on the card by itself, switched on for Today and free/busy.

If you chose Don't Allow, the card says so and has a button to Open System Settings: switch ChatPilot on under Privacy & Security → Calendars (choose full access), then press Check again.

On Today

Your calendar on Today lists what's left of today: the time, the title, where it is and how many people are invited. An event with a Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, Webex, Whereby or Jitsi link has a Join button that opens it. Below the list is your next meeting when that's on a later day. ChatPilot reads the calendar again every five minutes; the refresh button reads it now.

What ChatPilot does with it

  • It only reads your calendars; nothing here changes them.
  • What's in your calendar is shown only to you, never to team members, and it doesn't go to the AI from this card or from Today.
  • An event's notes are only looked at for a meeting link; ChatPilot doesn't keep them.

Disconnect

Disconnect on the card stops reading your calendars and forgets your switches. macOS keeps its permission until you take it back in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
