Google Search Console

For agencies and site owners: how your sites do in Google search, next to a client's chat, read only, with a Google sign-in.

Google Search Console reads how your sites do in Google search (clicks, impressions, CTR and average position per day, search query, page, country and device), your sitemaps and whether a page is in Google's index, read only, through Google's Search Console API. Google has no MCP server for Search Console, so ChatPilot reads the API this way.

What you need

A Google account that can open your sites in Search Console (a restricted user is enough). An agency that has been added to its clients' sites reaches all of them with one sign-in.

Connect it

  1. Settings → Integrations → + Add system → Google Search Console (marked sign in).
  2. Give it a Name and choose Read it.
  3. Click Sign in with Google and sign in on Google's page in the tab that opens. ChatPilot asks Google only to see your Search Console data; it can't change anything there.
  4. Back in ChatPilot, the system is added once Google has let you in and ChatPilot could list your sites with it. ChatPilot never sees your password; the sign-in goes into the Keychain.

If the browser can't come back to ChatPilot (for example when ChatPilot runs on another computer), paste the address the tab ended on in the box that appears, and click Finish.

Use it for a client

Bind the client's chat to their site as Search Console names it: the address with its slash for a URL-prefix site (https://www.example.com/) or sc-domain:example.com for a domain site (see Live data in a chat). In a discussion you can then ask "how many clicks did my site get from Google last week?", "which search queries bring the most visitors?" or "is this page in Google's index?". The monitors Search clicks dropped, Search position worse and Sitemap has errors and a weekly report are offered for it, all off until you switch them on, and 📊 Reports → Ready-made has Google search day by day, Pages people find through Google and Agency: my Search Console sites.

Figures come from Google as Google keeps them: two to three days behind, days in Pacific Time, and rare search queries left out to protect searchers' privacy. Search Console counts Google search only: no cost and no revenue (those are in Google Ads and Google Analytics 4).

ChatPilot never changes anything in Search Console: it doesn't send sitemaps or ask Google to crawl a page. If Google stops accepting the sign-in (you removed ChatPilot's access, or changed your password), remove the system and connect it again.
