Xero
For businesses that invoice in Xero: a customer's open invoices, balance and payments next to their chat, "Is my payment in?" answered from your books, read only.
Xero is online accounting. ChatPilot reads your customers (contacts), their open, late and paid invoices, what each customer still owes and the payments you received, read only, through Xero's Accounting API. You sign in with Xero; ChatPilot never sees your password.
What you need
For now you sign in through a Xero app of your own, which takes a few minutes once:
- Go to developer.xero.com → My Apps → New app.
- Give it a name, choose Auth code with PKCE as the type, and add the Redirect URI that ChatPilot's form shows (an address on this computer).
- Copy the app's Client ID. A PKCE app has no client secret, so there is nothing else to copy.
Connect it
- Settings → Integrations → + Add system → Xero.
- Paste the Client ID of your Xero app, give it a Name and choose Sign in with Xero.
- On Xero's own page, sign in and allow access to the organisation you want. ChatPilot asks only to read invoices, payments, contacts and the organisation's settings.
- Back in ChatPilot: when your sign-in reaches several organisations, choose the one to connect. ChatPilot reads the organisation once to check the sign-in, and only then adds the system. The sign-in goes into the Keychain.
Several organisations? Add Xero once for each. The sign-in started on another device (ChatPilot runs on a server)? Paste the address the tab ended on into the box that ChatPilot shows.
Use it for a customer
Bind the customer's chat to their contact in Xero, found by name or e-mail (see Live data in a chat). The 📇 card then shows what they still owe and how much of it is overdue, their open invoices with the first due date, and their last paid invoice. In a discussion you can ask "which invoices are still open?" or "is the payment for INV-0012 in?". Where you allow it, ChatPilot can answer "Is my payment in?" from your books in that customer's chat, about that customer only.
The monitors Invoice overdue and Payment received and a monthly statement are offered for a customer, all off until you switch them on. 📊 Reports → Ready-made has Open and late invoices and more pages about who owes what.
Amounts come as Xero keeps them, in the invoice's currency. ChatPilot never sends, books or changes anything in Xero. Xero ends a sign-in that isn't used for 60 days; if Xero stops accepting it, remove the system and connect it again.
