Back in stock and cart reminders
Tell shop customers who asked when a product is back, and remind those who agreed of a cart they left, as WhatsApp Business drafts you send.
Next to review requests, ChatPilot can write two more messages to shop customers: word that a product they asked about is back in stock, and a reminder of a cart they left without ordering. Like review requests, it never sends one by itself: it writes a draft in the customer's chat, and you send it like any other draft (Reply and approve drafts).
What it needs
The same as review requests: the WhatsApp Business API, a template for each kind approved at Meta, and your shop on the chat under More → Live data.
- Back in stock reads the product by its name, read only. It works with Shopify (scope
read_products; it goes by the stock of the product's first variant), WooCommerce and Magento (the integration needs Catalog → Products). Lightspeed doesn't have it yet. - Cart reminders read your shop's open checkouts, and the customer must be found on the chat (the order card shows their latest order). Only Shopify gives its open carts; the other shops don't have them in their own API.
The customer asks
- Back in stock: when a customer asks to hear when something is in stock again, open their chat and choose More → Shop messages → Tell them when a product is back…, and type the product's name as your shop names it. The chat's menu then shows Waiting for …; choose it to stop waiting. One customer can wait for up to 10 products, and a wait goes after 90 days.
- Cart reminders: when a customer says yes to them, choose More → Shop messages → Agreed to cart reminders. Untick it when they no longer want them.
Switching the chat off forgets all of it.
Set it up
Open Automation → Rules & auto-answer → Messages to shop customers. Each kind has its own switch, Template name, Template language and Template text, exactly as in WhatsApp Manager.
- Back in stock (Write a message when a product they asked about is back): ChatPilot fills {{1}} with the customer's first name, {{2}} with the product as your shop names it and {{3}} with the product's page. Where the shop gives no page (Shopify, Magento), it uses the Link when the shop gives none, your shop's address for example.
- Cart reminders (Write a reminder when they leave a cart): {{1}} first name, {{2}} the first product in the cart, {{3}} your shop's link back to the cart. Write it … hours after the cart was left: 4 to start with.
What happens
Every hour ChatPilot looks:
- Back in stock: the product whose name is exactly the one asked for (big or small letters don't matter). When your shop says it is in stock, the draft waits in the chat. If the name fits more than one product, or none, nothing happens: correct the name under More → Shop messages.
- Cart reminders: an open checkout of this customer, left at least the set hours ago and at most 7 days ago. If they ordered after leaving it, there is no reminder.
Send sends it as your WhatsApp template; a changed text goes as an ordinary message, which WhatsApp only allows within 24 hours of the customer's last message. One message per product asked about or per cart, and at most one shop message waiting per chat. Nothing of it goes to the AI.
