Notifications
Everything ChatPilot tells you, in the app: drafts to approve, answers it learned, alerts and pauses, with the same buttons.
Whatever ChatPilot tells you shows in the app itself: a draft waiting for your OK, an answer it learned, an alert, a pause, what auto-answer sent, an update. You don't need Telegram for it. When you linked a control bot, the same messages also go to Telegram.
Where you find them
- The bell in the top bar opens Notifications. A number on it says how many you haven't read yet.
- Today starts with Waiting for you: the unread ones, up to five, and All notifications for the rest.
Every notification says when it came and which chat it is about. They are kept for 30 days on this computer, and go when you switch a chat's saving off.
The buttons
Each notification has the buttons that fit it:
- A draft: Send, Send and learn (send it and let auto-answer send replies like this one by itself), Edit (opens the chat with the draft in the reply box), Snooze until tomorrow and Discard.
- An answer ChatPilot learned: Keep, Keep for everyone or Dismiss.
- A pause by a stop-loss rule: Resume; a proposed pause: Pause now.
- The weekly auto-answer score: Set to … the level it suggests for that chat.
- A question for you: Answer opens it on Today.
- An update: Update now.
- Anything about one chat: Open chat.
Once you press a button, the buttons make way for a line that says what happened. A draft you already sent or discarded somewhere else shows no buttons any more. Mark all read clears the number on the bell.
Read background chats now (on the Notifications page, once ChatPilot runs the background digest) reads the chats you set to Background right away instead of waiting for the daily time; what is worth a look arrives as a notification.
Choose where they go
The app always has every notification; that can't be switched off. Settings → Notifications says where else they go:
- On the desktop: the computer's own notifications (below, On your desktop).
- On your phone: a push on the phone app, once notifications are switched on there (Settings → On your phone). It only says what kind it is, never the text.
- Mail digest: off until you switch it on. At your digest times (Change the times opens Settings → Digests) you get one mail with what waits: the notifications you haven't read yet, each in one mail only, and your inbox at a glance. It goes out from one of your own linked mailboxes to that mailbox's own address, so it stays in your own mail; with more than one mailbox, Send from and to picks which. When nothing waits, no mail comes. Send a test now sends one at once. When a mail can't be sent, the card says why and a notification tells you once.
- Telegram: the same messages in Telegram. Two ways:
- ChatPilot's Telegram bot, no bot of your own needed. Sign in to your ChatPilot account, press Connect and then Start in Telegram; the card sees it by itself and says Connected. The link works for 15 minutes. By default the bot only says what kind of thing waits ("A reply waits for your approval."); switch Full text in Telegram on to get the text itself. That text goes through chat-pilot.ai to Telegram and chat-pilot.ai keeps none of it; chats set to Only my own AI never get their text sent. Send a test checks it, Disconnect (or /stop to the bot) ends it. The bot doesn't take answers: you answer in the app.
- Your own bot (advanced): the full messages with their buttons, without going through chat-pilot.ai. Connect there walks you through making your own bot; see Telegram notifications. With your own bot linked, ChatPilot's bot isn't used, so nothing comes twice.
Switch a place off and nothing more goes there; it all still shows in the app. Under Which notifications you tick the kinds that go to that place: drafts to approve, questions for you, alerts, pauses, answers ChatPilot learned, what auto-answer sent, reports, actions, updates and everything else. Back to the standard choice goes back to every kind on the phone and in Telegram, and drafts, questions, alerts and pauses on the desktop. The choice is kept in your settings file.
On your desktop
A new draft, a question for you, an alert or a pause also shows as a notification of your computer, so you see it with ChatPilot's window closed or behind other windows. Click it and ChatPilot opens the chat it is about (or its page) and marks it read. Reports, learned answers and updates stay in the bell, unless you tick them for On the desktop under Which notifications.
- This is on by itself in the ChatPilot app. The first time, your computer may ask whether ChatPilot may show notifications: allow it.
- In the alerts' quiet hours (Settings → Digests → Quiet hours for alerts) none show; they wait in the bell.
- To stop them, switch On the desktop off in Settings → Notifications.
